To ensure our historic church was able to continue to serve the local community, the capital campaign Preserving our Legacy, Elevating Our Future was launched in 2015 to raise funds for campus enhancements including a modern multi-use reception area with elevator ensuring easy, safe access for our worship, education and community facilities. This was Augustus’ first capital campaign since 1960.
Successfully completed in 2017, coinciding with the 300th anniversary of the founding of Trappe Borough, more than 200 members and friends supported the campaign.
The Muhlenberg Center is named in honor of Henry Melchior Muhlenberg, patriarch of the Lutheran Church in the United States, founder of Augustus Lutheran Church and arguably Trappe Borough’s most influential citizen.
The addition will be formally dedicated on Sunday, April 15 beginning at 11:45 a.m.
